Procedures
1) The class will discuss the Essential Question.
2) The class will check/grade the Geo Terms (ISN page 79)
3) I will then divide the class into their mixed-ability assigned groups that they will be in for the rest of the chapter and introduce the activity (interactive dramatization over one aspect of life in a highland Maya village).
4) Groups will pick the section (5 different sections) from Geography Alive that they would like to dramatize.
5) Students will then read as a group the section of Maya life they are dramatizing and receive the necessary information on their responsibilities as a group when completing the activity (worksheets).
Assessment

Resources: Geography Alive Text, ISN. Preparing a Dramatization Worksheet.
Reflection
. . . Very interesting "Round Table" conference with a student today. It appears this is something that the team does when they notice "warning" signals going off concerning a student. The teachers pull the student from their elective and has a meeting with them. It appears to be very effective and it is a good situation to get the student away from their peers where they may feel the pressure to act cool (or like they don't care). It is a bit intimidating for the student and appears to be an effective way to let the student know the teachers are serious about their behavior and acaddemic progress.
